A thrust washer, also referred to as thrust bearing or thrust plate, is a flat, disk-shaped bearing that facilitates rotational movement in high-load applications. Thrust washers are thin, disk-shaped components that fit between bearings and stationary surfaces along a shaft to support axial and thrust movement. They keep shaft assemblies aligned and stop uneven load distribution by providing a flat surface for the rotating component to push up against if it starts to move sideways.
