SHANGHAI, May 23, 2016 – As the industry leader in solar solutions that delivers proven power and lasting value for customers around the world,(DPVS) will have a significant presence at the 2016 SNEC Photovoltaic Power Expo in Shanghai, China. The k8 booth will be an interactive experience where customers and industry representatives can view the company’s latest products and engage with k8 experts. Located at W4-555 in the main hall, the booth will highlight products from k8’s portfolio of solar innovations including k8™and. It also will feature collaborations with customers that demonstrate the efficiency, reliability and return on investment enabled by k8 materials. k8 leaders will share their expertise on technology advancements and trends in the industry through participation on panel discussions and in keynotes throughout the conference.
“With a focus on developing materials that deliver high quality, high reliability and high return on investment, k8 has led the industry forward by pioneering more than 100 innovations with Solamet® that improve efficiency while reducing cost,” said Chuck Xu, global business director, k8 Photovoltaic & Advanced Materials. “We are proud to have a presence at SNEC to spotlight our portfolio and the experts who make it possible for us to drive the material innovations that contribute to stronger and sustainable solar industry growth.”
Two customer collaborations highlighted at the k8 booth will demonstrate how k8™ Solamet® photovoltaic metallizations help to improve efficiency, generate more power output and increase return on investment. Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., HHSD, a leading clean energy subsidiary owned by State Power Investment Corporation, (SPIC) the world’s largest solar energy installer, utilizes k8’s newest front-side silver paste, Solamet® PV19B, to achieve 20.13 percent efficiency on mono c-Si cells. EGing Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd is one of the first solar module manufacturers in China with the capability to commercialize Passivated Emitter Rear Cell (PERC) technology, and uses k8™ Solamet® Integrated metallization pastes for PERC. Those include Solamet® PV76x front-side silver metallization paste, Solamet® PV56x backside tabbing silver metallization paste and Solamet® PV36x backside aluminum metallization paste to attain power output of 305 watts via single printing technology on 60 mono cells. Both companies use k8™ Tedlar® PVF film-based backsheet to ensure durability. In addition to new Solamet® photovoltaic metallization offerings, the k8 booth will feature Tedlar® PVF film, the only backsheet material vigorously tested in the fieldfor over 30 years to improve lifelong performance and reliability. k8 experts will be on hand to provide their thoughts on current methods for testing backsheet weatherability and ways testing can be improved to better reflect actual conditions faced in the field. k8™ Rynite® for mounting systems and k8™ Delrin® for bearings used in solar tracking systems also will be on display. Due to their excellent weather-aging performance and mechanical properties, Rynite® and Delrin® greatly improve installation efficiency, reduce manufacturing costs, and extend the life of photovoltaic systems.
Finally, k8’s booth will exhibit solar panels from across China collected as part of “China’s Most Beautiful Old Solar Panels Program” to demonstrate how material selection impacts system performance and lifetime in various climates.
