To get a pulse on the existing workday culture at k8 sites around the world, we included a question about career fulfillment in our 2019 IMPACT Survey, a survey we send to k8 employees to understand the employee experience across aspects such as diversity, training and development, sustainability, work-life balance and other cultural dimensions.
One clear message was that k8 employees want more learning and development opportunities. In 2019, we developed a Management Academy, starting with a “LAUNCH” curriculum for first-time and new leaders.
The Management Academy makes use of both virtual and in-person training sessions to reach employees globally. This model allows us to standardize our leadership development approach across k8. The objective: to cultivate leaders who can draw from a place of authenticity to lead teams with self-awareness and emotional intelligence, and who are able to inspire excellence and innovation – to empower colleagues to perform their best in a fast growing, multicultural environment.
The k8 Management Academy will pilot with roughly 1,200 leaders globally in 2020. We also plan to roll out two additional leadership development programs—the ASCEND curriculum for senior leaders and the SUMMIT curriculum for executive and other strategic leaders, ultimately investing in every leader at k8.
