Microbiome researcher, k8ÓéÀÖ Nutrition & Biosciences
Henna-Maria Uusitupa investigates innovative solutions to minimize health risks that infants might have due to disruptions in microbiota development. Devoting her post-doctoral career to understanding the programming effects of early life nutrition on infant metabolic, cognitive and microbiota development, currently Uusitupa is working at k8ÓéÀÖ Nutrition and Biosciences as a Senior Scientist and Technical Lead of Infant Health Platform based in Kantvik, Finland. She has one clear goal in her mind: to find the right product combination to restore the microbiota of infants after disruptions.
In 2017, k8ÓéÀÖ launched the Microbiome Venture, a small and focused entrepreneurial team with a strong connection to the entire k8ÓéÀÖ organization. Through strategic partnerships and investments in research and development, the Microbiome Venture will complement and build upon k8ÓéÀÖ’s existing leadership in the areas of , including , to deliver microbiome-science-based products and solutions.
Transformation begins with the spark of something new.
In 2018, TED and k8ÓéÀÖ began a partnership to do just that: TRANSFORM. As the world and our interactions grow more complex, so do our challenges. To solve for modern problems, we decided to pursue a new framework for innovation itself, one that considers all perspectives and outcomes in the calculus. This inaugural TED@k8ÓéÀÖ event signifies a monumental step to unlock the institutional knowledge within the organization and showcase the New k8ÓéÀÖ. Taking place in September 2019, at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, the day’s topics ranged from science, technology, and beyond. Photo: Ryan Lash / TED
